Hi, I'm Rashida. In my opinion graffiti can be art and can be rubbish. It depends on a place where graffiti was painted and also depends on a skill of an artist. Banksy's pictures are really very, very professional and eye-catching. If artists decorate a boring wall of an old building or a long grey concrete fence with their bright skillful pictures, it's very good. But I wouldn't like to see graffiti on the Shard's or on the Gherkin's walls.

Graffiti - art or vandalism?
So now we've heard what people in Bristol think about Banksy, over to you. What do you think?
You had probably heard of Banksy before, but are there any graffiti artists that you know about that you'd like to tell us about?
If you have time, watch the short film on this website about the Skateboard Park on the Southbank, which has attracted not only skateboarders but also graffiti artists from all over the world. Developers want to close the park and build shops and restaurants :(

How I get news in Italy and London
Hi,
I usually read online newspapers, like "corriere della sera" or "repubblica" during my breakfast, then while I'm driving to work I listen "radio deejay"... I do the same while I'm coming back home. Finally, when I'm at home and begin to cook, I turn on the TV on "TG1" or "TG2".
Here in London instead I get the news only from internet during my breakfast, at the same websites.

How I get my news
I like to
keep me informed about current incidents. But not even back at home it’s simply
for me to do that. All the more it is difficult for me here in London.
In
Switzerland I often look the “Tagesschau” in the evening. It’s a daily TV programme,
which sums up the most important events from the day. From time to time I read
some newspaper my parents have subscribed to or free newspaper like Metro and
Evenings Standard which you can find everywhere in my city.
Here in
London I get the news basically from watching BBC news on TV. Sometimes I read
the Evening Standard or I read something online.

Welcome to our blog!
Welcome to our blog! Sometimes we'll use this in class,
sometimes I'll ask you to contribute ideas out of class, but I will also be
asking you for ideas about how you would like to use it.
Once I've set you up as a blog author, you can put up your
own posts and comment on each other's posts.
Have any of you contributed to a blog before? Or commented
on someone's blog? Maybe a class or uni blog, a travel blog......I'd love to
hear about it.
The topic we're looking at this week covers media and the news,
so I'd like to ask you how you find out about the news. I tend to listen to BBC
Radio 4 in the mornings as I'm getting ready for work, then I might read The
Guardian and Metro newspapers on the bus or over a coffee later in the day.
I've also got the Flipboard app on my iPad so I use that too. How about you?
