Welcome to our blog!

Welcome to our blog! Sometimes we'll use this in class, sometimes I'll ask you to contribute ideas out of class, but I will also be asking you for ideas about how you would like to use it.

Once I've set you up as a blog author, you can put up your own posts and comment on each other's posts.

Have any of you contributed to a blog before? Or commented on someone's blog? Maybe a class or uni blog, a travel blog......I'd love to hear about it.

The topic we're looking at this week covers media and the news, so I'd like to ask you how you find out about the news. I tend to listen to BBC Radio 4 in the mornings as I'm getting ready for work, then I might read The Guardian and Metro newspapers on the bus or over a coffee later in the day. I've also got the Flipboard app on my iPad so I use that too. How about you?

  1. Hey Guys, I often find out about news either by reading the newspaper, for example 'The Evening Standart', which you can receive for free at nearly all underground stations in London or I watch just the short news from my country on the internet. What about you? Do you read british newspapers?

    1. It's great that we have free newspapers in the morning and evening, isn't it? Thanks for reminding me about the Standard, I often pick it up and read it when I get home. It's also worth reading Time Out magazine (free at tube stations on Tuesday mornings) and Stylist (I think that one is given out on Tuesday evenings and/or Wednesday mornings).

  3. Hi Fiona, I've never had a blog before and this is my first time that I write on it.
I've only used blogs to discover or understand something I needed to know, like things that I need to know for work for example, but without write or comment something.

  5. I don`t have a blog and never had contributed to one before. That`s my first time =D

I need to improve the way I found out the news, because I normally uses to check it on the internet, but not frequently. I do not like to watch for news, because there is always lot of bad news =[

    1. Yes, I agree, it can get depressing if there is a lot of gloomy stuff in the news. I hope you'll enjoy your first experience of blogging! Great to have you on board!

  11. Hi, I'm Rashida. I've never contributed to a blog before and of course I've never written comments to someone's blog. I used to speak or to discuss with people in a real life but I think it can be very interesting and very useful. It's a new experience for me.
In London I find out about the news on TV from BBC News or from a TV broadcast 'Breakfast' in the morning. Sometimes I read underground's newspapers.

  12. Hi everyone :)
Thanks for excellent opportunity to communicate with each other! I have never used Blog in Google but I hade some blogs before in Russian language for work. What about news… I watch BBC news on TV in English and reed them in my phone by means of Apps. I prefer do it at the evening time because as just wrote Murilo most of them are bad. It is not good idea start the day with something unpleasant, isn’t it?

    1. Do you find it convenient to read the news on your phone, or do you prefer to watch on a full-size TV? I'd love to hear more about your previous blogs! Do you use Twitter for work/professional purposes?

  13. Hi,
I usually read online newspapers, like "corriere della sera" or "repubblica" during my breakfast, then while I'm driving to work I listen "radio deejay"... I do the same while I'm coming back home. Finally, when I'm at home and begin to cook, I turn on the TV on "TG1" or "TG2".

    1. That sounds like a good mix of ways to catch up with the news! Are TG1 and TG2 TV channels? Are they anything like the BBC or are they controlled by a particular political party or company?
